From Nest to Bookshelf: Our Flock Thanks You
One determined Mama Duck, a long migration, a few rough waters, and now this story has landed!
Dear Friends,
Thank you for waddling alongside me on this publishing adventure throughout these pre-launch months—your support has meant everything! Bringing this book to life felt less like drifting across a calm lake and more like navigating a lively river, full of bends, hidden rocks, and rushing currents. Still, every gust of wind carried me closer to where I was meant to go. I leaned into my determined Mama Duck energy, looking calm above the water while paddling furiously beneath the surface, and the rewards have already been incredibly sweet.
Because of you, we’ve tripled our social media following, celebrated a successful first in-person event this past weekend, and proudly placed Mama Duck’s Lost Duckling into its seventh store, with many more stores in the pipeline. Every milestone, every sale, every smiling child, and every kind review has reminded me why I started: to bring a little more childhood wonder into the world and to inspire kids to read, explore, and care for nature.
This book launch has undoubtedly been a team effort, and it truly took a village to reach this point of my book’s release. I’m endlessly grateful to Mama Duck’s extended flock—the editor, illustrator, designer, marketing team, early reviewers, friends, family, and book club cheerleaders, who helped this story stay in flight.
And to every new supporter: thank you for believing in this whimsical adventure and encouraging me to stay bold. Watching this story finally hatch after years of incubation has been magical in every way, and a genuine dream come true.
We’re celebrating every small win as we grow, and trust me, this paddle is just getting started. Mama Duck’s Lost Duckling is only the first book in a series, which means many more adventures lie ahead on and off the pretty little farm. I can’t wait to share what’s next, and I’m forever grateful to have you as part of my flock.
With heartfelt gratitude,
-Janice
